25/05/2009 - SCHEUERLE LOOKS SET TO TAKE COMP CAMS & CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ausdeck Racing's Andrew Scheuerle has worked hard this season to keep his points leads in both the Sprintcars Queensland Championship and the Comp Cams Series. Scheuerle, who has won both Series twice in a row in the past three seasons is looking forward to the last round of the Comp Cams Series this Saturday night at Brisbane International Speedway where the best of Queensland's Sprintcar drivers will fight it out to stand on the podium one last time for the 2008/2009 season.

Scheuerle has consistently placed in the top 5 at almost every round of the Comp Cams Series but suprisingly, until last weekend, had not won an A Main Feature Race for the entire 08/09 season. However, that statistic changed when Scheuerle took home the 5k To Win Eastcoast Pipelines Dash For Cash last weekend, putting a smile on the Queenslander's face. "It's just nice to win an A Main finally. We've had a tough season, some tough decisions on the track, some great results and some terrible nights but that's racing. Finally, thank goodness, we've done it and it was a good night to win on too. I'm happy and the car is feeling settled leading into these final races. These next few races are the ones that really count so the Q25 Maxim's exactly where I need it to be thanks to the whole Team." Andrew said.

The comfortable lead heading into the final round of the Comp Cams Series is just what the Queensland Star was hoping for and with a buffer of just over 30 points, the Q25 Maxim only needs to hit the track for the A Main on Saturday night and he's won the Series. Scheuerle will no doubt, put on a show for the fans and hope to take home another Feature win for the season.

From there, it's up to Maryborough on the 6 & 7th of June for the Queensland Title where the Championship points are one and a half times their usual value so the Championship will be decided on the final night. "The crowd are in for some spectacular racing that's for sure. The track at Maryborough is awesome, it's one of my favourite tracks because it flows so we'll be looking forward to a great weekend. The fans there are great supporters so we always enjoy travelling to Maryborough" Scheuerle said.
