01/06/2009 - AUSDECK RACING TAKES CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY IN COMP CAMS 2009

Andrew Scheuerle secured the 2009 Comp Cams Championship on Saturday night at Brisbane International Speedway after a season of consistency finally gave the Queensland Champion another Comp Cams Series to add to his name.  It is the first time Scheuerle has won the Series for the Ausdeck Racing Team.  After leading the final round until the last five laps his Q25 Ausdeck Patios & Roofing maxim nudged the wall after hitting a rut.  The track was fast and MyLaps recorded Scheuerle setting his fastest lap of the entire A Main prior to his crash at 12.2 seconds, almost half a second a lap quicker than the rest of the field.

Scheuerle will head into this weekends two night Queensland Title show at Maryborough Speedway as a favourite to take out the 2009 Title.  However with fellow Queensland stars like Wanless, Thorley, Jensen and Hodges, it will be a tough two nights of racing.  "Sure, it won't be easy, but it never is. I'm ready for the challenge and I am confident we have the car where we need it to be for this weekend.  Our car was so fast on Saturday night, I think I simply was too relaxed. It felt like it was on rails, honestly it was that smooth and I was so comfortable running the high line before I knew it, I'd hit a rut and wasn't so lucky this time around. Thankfully we did keep going but only just! Enough to finish fourth and take out the Championship so I'm extremly happy about that." Scheuerle said.

Currently in the lead of the Sprintcars Queensland Championship for 2009, he will now focus on bringing home a great result over the two nights of racing to secure the Qld Championship & Title once again.
