19/10/2009 - SCHEUERLE 'S ON FIRE: 9TH TO 2ND

Andrew Scheuerle drove through the field from nineth to 2nd on Saturday night at round 2 of the QSSS at Brisbane International Speedway. Scheuerle was the only car to move so far through the field and finish with a podium result after unfortunate circumstances earlier in the night.

Timing in 7th quick gave Scheuerle middle starting positions for both heats. The first heat saw him move forward from 6th to 5th.  The second heat Scheuerle made his move passing two cars on the start and stamped his authority passing on the high line to take the lead. After he took the lead, the yellow's came on due to an incident further back in the field and Scheuerle was sent back to second place.  On the restart, Titman spun out leaving Scheuerle with no where to go and taking another few cars with them in the incident.  He then restarted rear and finished fourth only gaining him enough points to start 9th in the evening feature race.

Scheuerle picked off his competitors, one by one in his usual relaxed style. Lap after lap the Queenslander moved through the field until he was in third position. Not prepared to settle for any less, he kept working on Thorley who was in second place until the final laps.  Scheuerle took second and began to chase down first place until the laps ran out to challenge for the win.  A podium finish after the night's events unfolded, was certainly a satisfying finish for the Ausdeck Racing Team.

"I'm happy with second place, we started nineth and worked our way through so I'm pleased with the end result. The car could have been a bit tighter in the setup so I worked with what I had and just didn't have enough speed to get us the win but I'm really happy with the result." Andrew said after the race.

The Ausdek Racing Team are in full preparations for their interstate racing schedule for the 09/10 season with motors being refreshed and the transporter stocked with the required spare parts.
