24/01/2010 - MIXED RESULTS FOR AUSDECK RACING AT THE CLASSIC NIGHT 1
In a night where time trialling would be critical with 76 cars for The Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Premier Speedway, Scheuerle was in group 9 for qualifying and put in an 11.426 before the engine blew thankfully at least recording a time for the night's racing. Scheuerle went on to finish 4th and second respectively in his heats and started out of 5 in the B Main.
In a race where car setup was critical with a mix of American's and a strong Australian lineup, Scheuerle's Q25 maxim had to be on the money to give him a transfer spot into the evening's A Main event. Scheuerle finally finished in 11th position but should still be in a respectable points position ahead of some of Australia's best such as Max Dumsney, Robbie Farr, Gary Brazier and the likes.
The night showed that dropping a heat could move you from 10th in the A Main to tenth in the C Main for the likes of Grant Anderson who unfortunately got caught up in someone elses accident. Tonight you can bet that drivers will be trying to move forward in their heats to gain valuable points for the main event.
"I honestly thought we may as well load up after we did the engine in qualifying but thankfully we recorded a time before it completely gave up and with the way the points are structured, if we move forward in our heats, we would be ok and we were. The car was awesome in the heats and today's a new day and we're looking forward to tonight's racing. Tonight's heats play a critical role. You must have good heat runs to advance any further and the key is at least finishing them with this many cars." Shirls said today.
The Ausdeck crew are already at the track preparing the car for tonight's racing.
Make sure you come and grab your team gear at the transporter before it sells out!
