The Winning

Ausdeck racing was founded in 2004 by Stewart Craig, with Andrew Scheuerle joining the team in 2008. After working with Andrew since 1994, Crew Member Gary Leeson joined Ausdeck Racing.

Together, the Team have forged one of the most successful Sprintcar Teams in Australia.

Stewart Craig

Founding his own team in 2004, Stewart brought out American drivers including Johnathan Allard for the Summer season at Archerfield Speedway and not long after, acquired Andrew Scheuerle to drive a second car for the team full time.

Stewart enjoyed his maiden win in Cairns towards the end of 2018 and consistently achieves top 10 finishes when the car hits the track.

Andrew Scheuerle

Andrew will tell you by far his greatest achievement in life is his family. His wife Jade, and two children, Aviana and Oscar, are regulars at the track, supporting Andrew and helping the team with merchandise.

Andrew has been racing for 25 years this season and holds an impressive track record. Securing the 2019 Australian Championship, 2 Queensland Titles, 8 Track Championships and 7 Club Championships, Scheuerle is consistently on the podium at his local track, Archerfield Speedway.

27TH JAN 2019

Scheuerle drove a flawless race to take the lead on lap 20, becoming the second Queenslander to ever win an Australian Title. In the weeks following, the overwhelming global support was a defining moment in Ausdeck Racing history.

2019 Australian Champions

On the 27th January 2019, Ausdeck Racing driver Andrew Scheuerle drove his way into the record books in his new J&J Auto Racing Chassis, winning his first Australian Sprintcar Championship, and becoming only the second Queenslander to ever win the Title. It took Andrew 25 years to finally reach the pinnacle of Australian Sprintcar Racing at his home track, Archerfield Speedway.

In the years prior, the team had always laughed about wanting at least a Queensland Title before they hung their helmets up for good. The months leading up to the Australian Title had left Scheuerle wondering if it was time to retire. The team grabbed their 'show' car down from the mezzanine floor, a Donny Schatz J&J Auto Racing car, and hit the track with 3 race nights until they were set to compete for the Australian Title at Archerfield Speedway.

The first two nights Scheuerle finished with decent results as he was getting used to the feel of the J&J. After a few key changes, Scheuerle looked good going into the third night and, leading into the Title, the team were quietly confident they had found what they needed.

Scheuerle headed into the final night of racing in 3rd on the leaderboard, and raced from 6th position to win the final heat, which no other car did that night. Starting off the front row, Scheuerle executed a flawless race and took the lead from James McFadden with 20 laps remaining. Driving with a comfortable lead passing a final lap car with only 2 laps to go, Scheuerle knew he had it.

The crowd were on their feet, screaming the house down. A Queenslander had just won an Australian Title at their local track! The infield was opened and the crowd joined the team for celebrations after the podium presentations.

A truly memorable night for the Queensland Locals and Ausdeck Sprintcar Racing Team.
